Drilling & Completions

Appalachian Energy has the knowledge and proven expertise to drill and complete CBM and conventional natural gas wells on strategic acreage held in southwest Virginia. Wells are safely drilled in accordance with all state and federal regulatory requirements.  Operations are focused on using the best technology available and minimizing impact to the environment.  AEI is proud of our reputation as a prudent, efficient and responsible Operator.

Production

After wells are drilled and completed, AEI installs the required wellsite equipment, electric service, well lines and gathering infrastructure to produce each well safely and efficiently.  AEI currently operates 142 wells and moves over 4.5 MMCFD through sixty miles of gathering system pipelines ranging in size from 2” to 16”.  Well fluids are efficiently pumped and/or removed to maximize natural gas production on each well.  Produced fluids are hauled and disposed of in third party, commercial disposal wells.  Production is closely monitored by contract well tenders and AEI management to identify production abnormalities, implement cost effective solutions and maintain efficiency.
